After a long time coming, Flight of the Conchords are finally planning their first tour together in five years.
Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, according to Billboard, “planning on touring later on in the year in the States.” Specific details remain unclear but the pair plan on playing new material during the shows.Clement explained: “I really don’t like the studio part of music, I more enjoy playing live and letting others take care of the recording.”
Clement also revealed that during a promotional appearance at the Sundance festival about his latest film, People, Places, Things.
After the production for their titular HBO series ended in 2009, the pair went on a short tour in mid-2010. Since then, their appearances have been rare, including shows in 2012 and a charity single released for Red Nose Day. Last September, reports came out that they would return to HBO, only for the pair to clarify that they were making a different project.
A rumored Flight of the Conchords musical/movie is still being considered.
