Erykah Badu and Robert Glasper rework Miles Davis’ “Maiysha”
With the Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead and its soundtrack, Jazz pianist Robert Glasper has been reworking parts of Miles Davis’ studio recordings for a Davis tribute album named Everything’s Beautiful. One recording is a remix of “Maiysha” featuring Erykah Badu. “I think Miles would’ve loved Erykah,” Glasper told Rolling Stone. The song, from Davis’ 1974 album Get Up With It, has been reworked into a bossa nova track. Everything’s Beautiful is out May 27.
