The month of September has been filled with tributes to George Harrison. Capitol Records initially released George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-1975. It is a box set filled with Harrison’s first six solo albums alongside live recordings and demos. Also, Conan O’Brien had a week-long session of performances filled with covers with artists such as Beck, Paul Simon, Harrison’s son Dhani with Big Black Delta, and Norah Jones.
At the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, Harrison was remembered with a tribute concert with artists such as The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd, Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Brian Wilson, “Weird” Al Yankovic, and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers and Mark Stoermer, as well as members of Weezer and The Strokes.
