“Broad City” original series soundtrack announced

The original soundtrack for Comedy Central sitcom “Broad City” has been announced. The tracklist has artists such as RJD2, Lizzo, Scooter Island, Tony Quattro, and more. Listen to the first song from the soundtrack, Jarina De Marco’s “Tigre,” below. The song is exclusive to the soundtrack, which is executive produced by the show’s Music Supervisor Matt FX Feldman. The album is due out October 28th through Milan Records, with vinyl exclusively from Urban Outfitters. Find the tracklist below and the cover artwork for the soundtrack above.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have released a new song from their upcoming album Skeleton Tree. It’s named “Jesus Alone,” and it is paired with a video of the song being performed live, from the band’s new feature film One More Time With Feeling. The album and film will both be released September 9th.

How to Dress Well shares new song “What’s Up”

Tom Krell, aka How to Dress Well, has released a new song, “What’s Up.” Listen to it below. “What’s Up” is from Krell’s upcoming album Care, which is due out September 23rd via Weird World/Domino. It is his first album since “What Is This Heart?” in 2014.

Pixies, Courtney Barnett, J Dilla, more releasing tapes for Cassette Store Day

The fourth annual Cassette Store Day the alternative for cassettes to Record Store Day, will go down on October 8th at venues and record stores in the United States, UK, Germany, Japan, and more. The first releases from this year have been announced, with different areas getting different releases. Artists that are coming out with tapes in the U.K. include Courtney Barnett, Pixies, and Gonjasufi, while, Big Star, the Ramones, J Dilla, and Death Cab for Cutie will release in the U.S. Find the full list of U.S. releases and stores here and here. Devendra Banhart shares new song “Saturday Night”

Devendra Banhart has released a new song, “Saturday Night.” Listen to it below. It is from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming ninth studio album Ape in Pink Marble, out September 23rd via Nonesuch. It was announced last December that Banhart was scoring the new comedy Joshy, which stars “Silicon Valley” star Thomas Middleditch.

The Avalanches curate Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1

The Avalanches returned with Wildflower, earlier this year, marking it their first album in 15 years. It also has been as long since the outfit curated an “Essential Mix” for BBC Radio 1. However, that changed today as The Avalanches took over the radio with a 45-minute playlist that included music from Frank Zappa, Sun Ra, Ratatat, Nina Simone, Betty Everett, The Parliaments, Madlib, The Stooges, Bad Brains, and more. De La Soul share We’re Still Here (now).. documentary

De La Soul have just shared a documentary called We’re Still Here (now)…, which shows the process the process they went through to create their new album and the Anonymous Nobody… It was directed by J Anders Urmacher and it unfolds the story of the album’s Kickstarter campaign, the trio on tour, and it features interviews with the members of De La Soul, and includes footage from live performances. Watch the documentary below.

and the Anonymous Nobody… is out today, and includes collaborations from Little Dragon, David Byrne, Damon Albarn, Usher,  Pete Rock, 2 Chainz, Jill Scott, and more. It was revealed recently that De La Soul recorded parts for the upcoming Gorillaz album.
