Daveed Diggs’ (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton) rap trio clipping. last night made their television debut on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.” Watch their performance below. They performed “A Better Place,” from their most recent album, Splendor & Misery. Diggs won a Tony Award for “Best Featured Actor in a Musical” but left Hamilton in July.

Dave Grohl’s mom interviews Dr. Dre, Amy Winehouse, Haim’s moms for new book

Dave Grohl’s mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, has written a book titled From Cradle to Stage: Stories From the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars. It is set to be out April 25, 2017 via Seal Press, as Stereogum reports. The book, which features a foreword by the Foo Fighters frontman, has Grohl interviewing the mothers of other famous musicians, including Verna Griffin (Dr. Dre), Janis Winehouse (Amy Winehouse), Donna Haim (the Haim sisters), Marianne Stipe (R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe), Hester Diamond (Beastie Boys’ Mike D), and Patsy Noah (Adam Levine). The book will include the Grohls’ “exclusive” family pictures. See the book cover above.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off soundtrack to get first official release

American teen comedy film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which has become a classic since its release, never had an official soundtrack come out when the film was put out in 1986. Starting September 13th, La-La Land Records will put out the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off soundtrack for the first time. According to Film Music Reporter, the release will collect songs that were played in the movie as well as Ira Newborn’s original score, and is limited to 5000 copies. The tracklist will include Yello’s “Oh Yeah” and “Danke Schoen” by Wayne Newton, and the marching band version of “Twist and Shout”; find the full list here.

“Broad City” original series soundtrack announced

The original soundtrack for Comedy Central sitcom “Broad City” has been announced. The tracklist has artists such as RJD2, Lizzo, Scooter Island, Tony Quattro, and more. Listen to the first song from the soundtrack, Jarina De Marco’s “Tigre,” below. The song is exclusive to the soundtrack, which is executive produced by the show’s Music Supervisor Matt FX Feldman. The album is due out October 28th through Milan Records, with vinyl exclusively from Urban Outfitters. Find the tracklist below and the cover artwork for the soundtrack above.

Tom Krell, aka How to Dress Well, has released a new song, “What’s Up.” Listen to it below. “What’s Up” is from Krell’s upcoming album Care, which is due out September 23rd via Weird World/Domino. It is his first album since “What Is This Heart?” in 2014.

Pixies, Courtney Barnett, J Dilla, more releasing tapes for Cassette Store Day

The fourth annual Cassette Store Day the alternative for cassettes to Record Store Day, will go down on October 8th at venues and record stores in the United States, UK, Germany, Japan, and more. The first releases from this year have been announced, with different areas getting different releases. Artists that are coming out with tapes in the U.K. include Courtney Barnett, Pixies, and Gonjasufi, while, Big Star, the Ramones, J Dilla, and Death Cab for Cutie will release in the U.S. Find the full list of U.S. releases and stores here and here.
