Björk’s new album out in November

A release month Björk’s new album has finally been revealed via the New York Times. Her self-described “Tinder record” is set to come out in November via One Little Indian. The upcoming album will feature past collaborator Arca co-producing. The first single from the album, “The Gate,” will arrive September 18th. In a statement, Björk wrote, “vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and i think this new album is about a love that’s even greater. it’s about rediscovering love – but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.”

King Crimson announce new box set Sailors’ Tales

King Crimson will release Sailors’ Tales this fall, a huge box set that covers their work between 1970 and 1972. The set, that includes 27 discs, includes remastered versions of every one of the band’s albums from those years, including unreleased live recordings, band auditions, and additional studio tracks. The set also comes with memorabilia from the era and liner notes, find all the details hereSailors’ Tales is due out November 3rd. Listen to Rostam’s new song “Half-Light”

Rostam has released the title track from his upcoming solo debut Half-Light. The song has Wet’s Kelly Zutrau on guest vocals. Watch the lyric video below. Rostam  also has released the album’s “Bike Dream” and “Gwan.” Half-Light is due out September 15th via Nonesuch.

See Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in first pictures from Bohemian Rhapsody

Rami Malek, the star on “Mr. Robot,” is getting prepared for his portrayal of Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic about the band, Bohemian Rhapsody. Entertainment Weekly shared the first look at him as Mercury today. See below. Malek said it was “a very affirming moment” when he first saw himself in hair and makeup. Sacha Baron Cohen was set to portray Mercury in 2010, but he eventually left the project over creative differences with Queen. Brian May later disputed Cohen’s claims. The film has been in production for almost a decade but is set to go to theaters in December 2018.

Michelle Obama recreates Beyoncé’s “Formation” look

Michelle Obama helped celebrate Beyoncé’s birthday today with a Lemonade-inspired photo tribute along with Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland, Blue Ivy, and more. They dressed up in the iconic hat-and-braids look that Beyoncé wore in her 2016 “Formation” music video, as Fader pointed out. The photos are posted on Beyoncé’s website as well as a birthday message from her “family and friends.” See them below as well.

Madlib releases new 7″ vinyl, shares new song

Madlib has released a new 7″ record that features two instrumental tracks: “Barrel Proof” and “10 Summers Old.” Listen to “10 Summers Old” below. The record is available to purchase at Rappcats.com and Technical Equipment Supply, a record label and store that is run by Todd Osborn in Ypsilanti, Mich only. Technical Equipment Supply is also the same place that exclusively released Aphex Twin’s latest 12″ record.

St. Vincent shares “New York” video

St. Vincent has released a video for her song “New York.” The clip was directed by Alex Da Corte and shows Annie Clark in surreal and colorful scenes, including on a couch with a swan. Da Corte said in a press release, “I think Annie’s New York is the New York of my dreams—one that is blurry and fractured, dreamy and flat. It is the Toontown to my Hollywood. It is beautiful but slightly out of reach.” Watch the “New York” music video below.

Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett detail new album, share new song “Over Everything”

Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett have released a video for their new track “Over Everything.” It was directed by Danny Cohen and can be watched below. “Over Everything” is the first single from the pair’s upcoming collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice, which is set to be released October 13th through Matador. Check out the album artwork above and tracklist below. Vile and Barnett will also go on a North American tour this fall, their itinerary can be found here.

Watch TOKiMONSTA and MNDR’s new “We Love” video

Jennifer Lee, aka Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA, has shared the music video for her track “We Love,” featuring MNDR. Directed by Michael Raines, the video shows a group of women taking a road trip and party at a state fair. Watch it below.
