Girlpool announce tour

Girlpool have announced a new tour in support of their newest album Powerplant. Starting October 14th, they will play shows in Denver, Minneapolis, Baltimore, San Antonio, and more. Palm, Lala Lala, Lily and Horn Horse, and French Vanilla are set to join them for various dates. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Danny Brown, more to play the Growlers’ new festival

The Growlers have announced a new music festival, the Growlers Six. They will headline along with Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Modest Mouse on October 28-29th at the LA Waterfront. Other artists who will play include Danny Brown, Dan Auerbach, Butthole Surfers, Beth Ditto, Bad Brains, Geto Boys, Frankie Cosmos, Rostam, DJ Seinfeld, Girlpool, and Amber Coffman. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ performance will be their first since 2013. Also, the Butthole Surfers’ appearance will be their only show in 2017, according to a press release. Watch the Killers cover Muse, Smashing Pumpkins at Lollapalooza

The Killers headlined Lollapalooza last night, where they performed a set that had a pair of covers: Muse’s “Starlight,” and the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Disarm.” Watch both of the performances below (via CoS). Muse headlined the first night of the festival but their performance was canceled shortly into their set due to inclement weather.

Car Seat Headrest share new song “War Is Coming (If You Want It) [March Mix]”

Car Seat Headrest has released an “alternate mix” of a new song. All of the proceeds from “War Is Coming (If You Want It) [March Mix]” will be donated to the Transgender Law Center, in unity with Bandcamp’s site-wide fundraiser. Find it here on their Bandcamp page. All of the profits that Bandcamp makes today will be donated to the TLC and Car Seat Headrest have also announced that their own proceeds will be donated to the organization as well. According to the band, the new track will officially be released later this month.

Watch Tame Impala perform “Love/Paranoia” on “Fallon”

Tame Impala performed on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” last night, playing their Currents track “Love/Paranoia.” Watch it below. They also performed it live for the first time during their set at Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York last week followed by them playing it again during their 2017 Panorama set.

Watch SZA’s new “Supermodel” video

SZA has released the new music video for her song “Supermodel.” The singer in the video walks through a forest full of fairy children before confronting a man and shooting firecrackers at his feet with her fingers. Check out the Nabil-directed video below. “Supermodel” is from SZA’s most recent album Ctrl.

Cat Power says new album is “ready to go”

Cat Power has announced a new album via an Instagram post where she said that the follow-up to 2012’s Sun is “READY TO GO.” She has not revealed the title or release date yet for her tenth studio album.

Watch Jaden Smith’s new “Watch Me” video

Jaden Smith has released a new music video for his track, “Watch Me.” It was directed by Shomi Patwary, shows Smith alone in the California desert. The setting changes color as he dances and jumps around, wearing all black. Watch the video below.

Daniel Johnston announces final tour

Daniel Johnston has announced his final set of live shows for this fall. Johnston will play dates backed by bands that “he has influenced,” in cities distinct to those artists. Jeff Tweedy & Friends will join Johnston in Chicago, for example. He also has shows with Built to Spill in Portland and Vancouver, the Preservation All-Stars in New Orleans, and the Districts and Modern Baseball in Philadelphia. For each show, Johnston’s band will create the setlist, and each night will begin with a screening of the 2005 documentary The Devil and Daniel Johnston. Find the full itinerary below. \

Phoenix announce North American fall tour dates

Phoenix have announced new tour dates in North America, beginning on October 10th in Columbus, Ohio. They will also play shows in Detroit and Montreal and a pair of Mexican festivals. They will also go on a South American tour in November. Check out their complete itinerary below.
