Smashing Pumpkins

Watch the Killers cover Muse, Smashing Pumpkins at Lollapalooza

The Killers headlined Lollapalooza last night, where they performed a set that had a pair of covers: Muse’s “Starlight,” and the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Disarm.” Watch both of the performances below (via CoS). Muse headlined the first night of the festival but their performance was canceled shortly into their set due to inclement weather.

The Smashing Pumpkins Could Be Making a Doom Metal Album

The alternative band, Smashing Pumpkins are set to release two albums, Monuments To An Elegy and Day For Night, in 2015, but they are apparently working on a third. While the other two albums set to release in 2015 focus on guitar-influenced sounds, the third record could be going even heavier by delving into doom metal.

Guitarist Jeff Schroeder recently posted an Instagram image of a Sunn Concert Lead amp on Thursday with the caption, “Billy [Corgan] and I are making a doom metal album.”

However, everything could just this be a joke about how Corgan and Schroeder are simply using Sunn amps.
