Jonny Greenwood soundtracks new You Were Never Really Here film clip

Mitski Reviews Harry Styles’ New Album

Harry Styles released his self-titled solo debut recently. Now, Mitski who has covered One Direction’s “Fireproof” has written a review of it for the Talkhouse. Mitski begins her review with, “As I’ve always done with beautiful people, I’ve long only noticed Harry Styles from afar.” She continues with comparing him to the popular boy in school, saying that this album is when you learn that “this beautiful, distant boy from school sometimes says stupid things like, ‘You’re cool, no one else knows who the Beatles are.’” Mitski goes on and finds fault with some of the album’s more tired affectations, but says that she would still “stand like an ant in an arena crowd just to witness his magnetism; his expansion as a performer since his beginnings in One Direction.” Read her full piece here.
