Leon Bridges has released his highly anticipated debut album, Coming Home, this week. To celebrate, the soul prodigy went on last night’s The Tonight Show, where he performed the LP’s title track gorgeously. His vintage tone and threads are a nod to his passion for retro music, however it seems as though he is more than just a person who just wants to live in a nostalgic haze, he revives the classic soul sounding music, watch the replay here.
Marc Maron announced last week that he would be speaking with President Barack Obama. He gave the news before his episode with Judd Apatow, another guest that speaks highly of his year that includes a once-in-lifetime phone call by Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones.
Maron today released the hour-long episode where Maron and Obama discussed “college, fitting in, race relations, gun violence, changing the status quo, disappointing your fans, comedians, fatherhood, and overcoming fear.”
Maron talked about the interview: “It’s just gonna be me and President Barack Obama in my garage. And I know that he was at Tyler Perry’s last night, so I’m a little… I mean, I like my house, but I imagine it’s gonna be a little different. It’s cozy, it’s cozy.”

Even though Four Tet, Keiran Hebden had announced in May that his upcoming album, Morning/Evening would be released in early July, it seems as though he changed his mind and decided to stream it a few weeks ahead of planned. Writing cryptic messages on Twitter, Hebden posted on Sunday “to celebrate the summer solstice, I’ve decided today will be Morning/Evening Day.” Hear and buy the album through BandCamp. He wrote that it will be available for purchase on CD and vinyl on July 10.
The Libertines have given fans a first preview of their new album. The band debuted “Gunga Gin” during their set at The Netherlands’ Best Kept Secret Music Festival. Watch fan-shot video here.

Beck has been added to the lineup for Doug Aitken’s Station to Station project in London Barbican, and will be joined by Thurston Moore. at the event, which has been billed as “an evening of music, poetry and visual arts,” Beck and a musical group with Moore will accompany readings of poetry from Simon Armitage, Don Paterson, and more, as well as a projected video backdrop. The performance will be in the Barbican Hall on June 29.
The creative partnership includes Aitken’s The Source project, Beck’s cover of “I Only Have Eyes For You” for Airken’s Song 1 installation as well as the U.S. Leg of Station to Station in 2013, where Moore performed as well. Beck and Moore also paired up on Moore’s solo album, which was produced by Beck, Demolished Thoughts.
Also on the lineup, musicians such as Savages, EMA, and Micachu will collaborate and perform to create a 30-day “living art project.”
Beirut has premiered the video for “No No No”, the lead single from their upcoming album of the same title. The video, which was directed by Brother Willis, sees the band performing on an American Bandstand sort of stage that is rigged with surprises.
Rather than performing on normal instruments, the band is forced to play on strange objects such as skunks and baguettes. There is a scene even where Zach Condon is smashed in the head with a random #dadbod. Watch it below.
The album, No No No is the follow-up to the widely acclaimed The Rip Tide and will come out September 11th through 4AD.
Josh Homme, frontman to Queens of the Stone Age, and collaborative partner Jesse Hughes revealed yesterday the first Eagles of Death Metal song in seven years, “Complexity”. They have now gone into detail about the album the single comes from, ZIPPED DOWN, which is due on October 2nd through T-Boy/UME.
The 11-track follow-up to Heart On includes “Complexity” and a cover of Duran Duran’s “Save a Prayer”.
Home said in a statement that the new LP’s sound, “In an independent study, four out of three doctors say ZIPPER DOWN is an eargasm trapped inside a crazerbeam. And I believe them.”
Hughes also reflected on the mantra of the record: “The new album, ZIPPER DOWN, really represents to me an attitude and philosophy of life. One should not zipper up, they should zipper down and let it all hang out.”
ZIPPER DOWN Tracklist:

03. Got a Woman
04. I Love You All The Time
