Watch Fleet Foxes’ new “If You Need To, Keep Time on Me” short film

Ryan Heffington, the choreographer for the 2015 Grammy-nominated music videos, Sia’s “Chandelier” and Arcade Fire’s “We Exist,” has released a new short film that is set to Fleet Foxes’ song “If You Need To, Keep Time on Me” from Crack-Up. The film shows Heffington hosting a dinner party where it explores what seems to be a conflict with romance. Watch the Heffington directed and choreographed clip below.

In a statement, Heffington said “It was the pure honesty of the music and Robin Pecknold’s voice that originally drew me to direct/choreograph ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me.’” He continued, “Heartbreak being one of the most honest and visceral symptoms of love, I wanted to paint a realistic picture of humanity and share a story that so many of us have encountered. Using dance as an offering has defined my adult life and I believe in its healing power—for both the dancer and the witness. I wanted to capture this in the film, whether it is seen as surreal or organic.”
