Listen to the Jesus and Mary Chain’s new song “Amputation”

The Jesus and Mary Chain earlier today announced Damage and Joy, their first album since 1998’s Munki. They have shared the first song from the record today. Listen to “Amputation,” which premiered on Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 show, below. Damage and Joy is due to be out March 24th via ADA/Warner Music.

Damage and Joy was recorded with the producer, Youth, who also played bass on the LP. The album will also feature the band’s touring drummer Brian Young and Lush’s former bassist, Phil King.

The Jesus Mary Chain celebrate 30th anniversary of Psychocandy with tour

The Jesus and Mary Chain announced that they will celebrate the 30th year since the release of their popular Psychocandy with a leg of shows. The band have announced UK tour dates already which will go through February and then they will tour in the United States and Canada. Although the east coast has no shows yet, there are shows set for the rest of the country and Canada.

Austin Psych Fest reveals 2015 line-up

Austin Psych Fest has announced details about its 2015 festival. Named LEVITATION, the festival, from May 8th-10th will take place at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas.

The line-up is studded with bands such as Tame Impala, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, The Flaming Lips, and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Orher bands on the line-up include, Thee Oh Sees, Mac DeMarco, Lightning Bolt, A Place to Bury Strangers, Ty Segall’s FUZZ, The Sword, Earth, The Black Angels, Melody’s Echo Chamber, METZ, White Fence, The Soft Moon, Rose Windows, The Black Ryder, Night Beats, The Blank Tapes, Nothing, Indian Jewelry, and Fat White Family. More acts are yet to be announced.
