It was announced earlier this year that the pending animated “Deadpool” TV series for FX from Donald and Stephen Glover had been canceled, and that Marvel, FX, and the Glovers had parted ways. Glover afterwards had leaked 15 pages of a possible script from the show that referenced the cancellation. Glover also said, “For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on ‘Deadpool.’” However, now, the CEO for the network, John Landgraf has revealed in a Variety interview that the decision to part ways was Marvel’s.
When Landgraf was asked if there was a chance of reviving the show with the Glovers and Marvel, he replied, “No. I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights… They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done [the] show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them as did Donald and Stephen.”
