John Campbell, a New Zealand newscaster is a fan of Sharon Van Etten and was sad that he could not go to her show in Auckland tonight because of a previous plan. However, his colleagues did not want him to be bummed thus they had Van Etten appear to his surprise during his show, “Campbell Live”. Campbell was so overwhelmed, he began to cry. After the welcome, Van Etten began to perform “Tarifa” from Are We There, which was released last year. You can watch the video here.

Watch the trailer for Kurt Cobain documentary “Montage of Heck”
The authorized Kurt Cobain documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, will air on HBO on May 4. According to the Playlist, the first official trailer for the film is out which can be watched below.
Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, is one of the executive producers of the film. The documentary will have, according to the press release, “dozens of Nirvana songs and performances as well as previously unheard Cobain originals,” as well as “no-holds-barred access to Kurt Cobain’s archives, home to his never-before-seen home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, personal archives, family archives and songbooks.”
The Hollywood Reporter says that the documentary will feature a 12-minute unreleased acoustic song by Cobain.
Tame Impala releases new single “Let It Happen”
Tame Impala this year is planned to return with a highly anticipated follow-up to their 2012 Lonerismf. Even though the band has not yet announced an official date of release yet, they offered a new single called “Let It Happen” which can be downloaded here.
“Let It Happen” is the first new Tame Impala released material in three years and it is most definitely work the wait.
The indie rock band also announced a huge tour in North America, playing festivals such as at Coachella, Sasquatch!, Governors Ball, and Boston Calling. Consult the full itinerary.

Watch Spoon perform “I Just Don’t Understand” and “Inside Out” on La Blogothèque
Spoon recently filmed another session of the “Take Away Show” for La Blogothèque. In the clip, singer Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Eno performed the songs from their latest album, They Want My Soul, “I Just Don’t Understand” and “Inside Out” in the Knockdown Center in Maspeth, New York.
The band, according to La Blogothèque, was being watched by Hannah Epperson who is eating oatmeal off camera. Watch the session below.

The War On Drugs announce new tour dates
Rock band, The War on Drugs, have announced new tour dates for their upcoming North American tour. This is in support of their 2014 Lost in the Dream, and the band is lined up for new dates in places such as California, New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. This long leg of the tour is set to run from the end on March o the end of June with stops at Sasquatch! Festival and Field Trip Music Festival.

Prince to play spontaneous concerts across the U.S. starting next week
Prunce had spent much of last year playing spontaneous shows across Europe and the UK in promotion of his new albums, Art Official Age which was solo and Plectrumelectrum, his debut with 3rdEyeGirl. He has now announced that he has plans to do the same thing in the United States.
The first date on the Hint and Run tour is in Louisville, Kentucky on March 14th. There is no venue details yet announced but tickeys begin to go on sale Monday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Live Nation.
Thee Oh Sees announce new album, Mutilator Defeated At Last, and premieres “Web”
San Francisco band, Thee Oh Sees, have announced their sixth album in five years. The album entitled, Mutilator Defeated At Last, is set to be released on April 19th through the band’s frontman’s, John Dwyer’s, Castle Face Records.
Mutilator Defeated At Last serves as the follow-up for Drop which was released last year and features Dwyer, Tim Hellman, Nick Murray, Chris Woodhouse, and Brigid Dawson as the line-up. The album was mixed by Woodhouse and mastered by John Golden who also produced bands such as Soundgarden, the Melvins, and Ty Segall.

Tv show based on Weezer’s River Cuomo’s life found leading actor
The upcoming Fox series that is based on River Cuomo, frontman of Weezer, is entitled Detour. The show is produced by Cuomo and it was recently decided to cast British actor Ben Aldrige as the leading man. The character will have the name of Michael Sturges.
Aldrige may not be exactly like Cuomo, he has stared in several TV shows such as a recurring role on Reign on the CW.
The pilot was written by the creator of Psych, Steve Franks and directed by Jeremy Garelick who also directed The Wedding Ringer. There is not yet an announcement on an official air date. No word yet on an official air date.
The White Stripes to release Get Behind Me Satan on vinyl for first time
The White Stripes will release the first commercially available vinyl version of Get Behind Me Satan on this year’s Record Store Day on April 18th. The vinyl will come as a double LP and will come in red and white cord with alternative artwork that changes as it moves. It will be sold later this in the standard black vinyl and with the regular cover. The album will also include new artwork inside.
