Devo performed a career-spanningset at the Burger Boogaloo last night in Oakland where they were joined by Fred Armisen. “He brought his vintage Club DEVO membership kit to rehearsals, which he purchased in the early 1980s,” the band wrote on Twitter. Kamasi Washington shares The Choice EP
Kamasi Washington has released a new EP, The Choice, on Apple Music and Spotify. It is a companion piece to Heaven and Earth, his most recent album. You can listen to the EP on Spotify below. Fans received a free copy of the EP when they ordered a physical copy of his new album. The EP has two covers — Carole King and Gerry Coffin’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and the Five Stairsteps’ 1970 song “Ooh Child.”

Grouper announces tour
Grouper, aka Liz Harris, has announced a tour which starts in September with an appearance at Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 8th. How to Dress Well has returned with a new song called “Vacant Boat (shred) | Non-Killing 1 | The Anteroom | False Skull 1.” As well as a segment of a song called “The Anteroom” as a standalone track. They are two sides of a single called “Land of the Overflowing Urn” which was released on Domino. Listen below.
Watch Mitski’s video for new song “Nobody”
Mitski has shared a music video for her new song “Nobody,”the second song from her upcoming album, Be The Cowboy. Watch below. The surreal clip was filmed in five days in Kansas City and was directed by Christopher Good. “I’ve never been able to take this much time to shoot a video, so it was wonderful to have the space to get the details right, as well as actually hang out and have fun with everyone involved,” Mitski said in a statement. “This video made me fall unexpectedly in love with Kansas City.”
Mitski will be on tour until June 30, and and then will return to the road following the release of Be the Cowboy on August 17th.
The Moldy Peaches’ debut album getting reissued
Adam Green and Kimya Dawson, aka The Moldy Peaches, are reissuing their debut self-titled album and it is set to be out August 10th through Rough Trade. It will be pressed on red vinyl as well as come with a bonus 7″ single of “County Fair” and “Rainbows,” and it will come out on CD. The artwork has been slightly updated. The album also features “Anyone Else But You,” which was used in the film, Juno.
“It’s been 17 years since this was last released and we are putting it out again just in time to capitalize on the popularity of Juno,” the band joked in a statement. “We decided to ignore Barbara Walters’ advice when she told us to strike when the iron was hot, and decided to wait until the iron had become safely tepid. Once a Moldy Peach, always a Moldy Peach.”

Watch My Bloody Valentine perform first show in 5 years
My Bloody Valentine kicked off their tour this summer by playing their first show since 2013 at Birmingham’s O2 Institute. Fans received a pair of earplugs when they got to the show as the usual tradition at the band’s shows. DJ Shadow announces new live album and film
DJ Shadow has announced a film and live album titled Live in Manchester: The Mountain Has Fallen Tour. The album/film was recorded at England’s Albert Hall in October of last year where Shadow had stopped on tour behind his latest album The Mountain Will Fall and his 2017 EP The Mountain Has Fallen. Live in Manchester is set to be out July 13th through Mass Appeal Records.
The film will be premiered at the Los Angeles’ Downtown Independent tomorrow, June 22nd and Shadow will be in attendance for a Q&A. Watch the trailer and find the album tracklist below and the artwork above.
