Mitski stars in SITTING, a new film directed and written by Emily Yoshida. Mitski plays a “sitter” for people taking an intense drug that allows them to “meet God.” The short film is also heavily soundtracked by Mitski’s Puberty 2 song “Thursday Girl.” Watch it below.
Mitski has written a review of Weezer’s most recent studio album Pacific Daydream for the Talkhouse. She looks into the band’s relationship with youth culture and compares Rivers Cuomo’s songwriting to the creative processes of David Lynch. She also calls the album “an honest representation of a middle-aged rock star.” “Weezer’s newest album has provided unexpected clues in an examination of my own writing, too, as I inevitably age and negotiate an ever-evolving self with an enduring idolatry of youth,” she wrote. Bon Iver has announced a reissue of their debut album For Emma, Forever Ago for the album’s 10th anniversary. The new version will be released on CD and vinyl, will feature new artwork and an essay by collaborator Trever Hagen. Check out the cover art above. Bon Iver will celebrate the album’s anniversary as well with a one-off “smoke-free” performance at Milwaukee’s BMO Harris Bradley Center on February 17th. The album will be at their merch table and via Bon Iver’s official website exclusively.
Julien Baker made her national TV debut on today’s episode of “CBS This Morning” to perform songs off her new album Turn Out the Lights. Watch her play “Appointments,” “Turn Out the Lights,” and “Televangelist” below. She also was recently on the Minnesota Public Radio program “A Prairie Home Companion” to play some songs and a rendition of the hymn “It Is Well With My Soul.”

A new Years & Years song named “Hypnotized” is the soundtrack to a new short film by Baz Luhrmann, “The Secret Life Of Flowers.” Watch it below. The short, which was made for ERDEM x H&M, stars Harriet Walter, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and more. “The song is about falling head over heels for somebody and it totally up-ends everything you thought you knew about yourself,”Olly Alexander from the band said in a press release. The film, set in a floral country house, is “like a metaphor for our times—it’s harsh out there in the world, but in here, the things that really matter keep growing in an eternal spring.”
Moses Sumney was on the tonight’s episode of “Later… With Jools Holland” as one of the musical guests. He performed on the BBC Two program to perform “Plastic,” a song off his new album Aromanticism. Watch his TV debut below. Aromanticism follows his 2016 EP Lamentations and is Sumney’s debut LP.
New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords are going back on tour. Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie’s “Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour” will hit the UK next year beginning with a pair of March dates at London’s Eventim Apollo. Check out the dates below. It is their first UK tour in seven years and according to a press release, the stint will show the pair debut new material.

Netflix’s “Stranger Things” is about to premiere its second season on October 27th. The soundtrack became available today for streaming. S U R V I V E members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein scored this season. The soundtrack includes the previously shared song “Walkin’ in Hawkins. “We’ve created new elements that are necessary to support the story, but still want to remain true to the sound of Season 1,” Dixon and Stein said. They also included a special bonus Halloween album as a part of the Apple Exclusive Deluxe Edition. Listen to the soundtrack here.
Four Tet has announced a number of tour dates for his newest album New Energy. Kieran Hebden will be playing shows in London, L.A., and Brooklyn beginning in February. Check out the dates here. New Energy is his first full-length release since 2015’s Morning/Evening.
