Woods share new song “Can’t See At All”

Woods are set to release their ninth album, City Sun Eater in the River Light, in April. This is the follow-up to 2014’s With Light and With Love and features the band including new elements into their style of psychedelic folk. Last month they released the impressive lead single “Sun City Creeps,” and now they shared their latest single “Can’t See At All.”

City Sun Eater in the River Light will hit stores on April 8th via the band’s longtime label Woodsist. Woods will embark on a US spring tour in support.

Arcade Fire perform with David Byrne at Montreal charity gig

The Montreal’s Society for Arts and Technology last night hosted a benefit concert for KANPE, the pro-Haiti charity that was co-founded by Arcade Fire’s Régine Chassagne. Régine, her husband Win Butler, and guitarist Richard Reed Parry performed as the house band performing alongside with David Byrne, Saul Williams, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Arcade Fire have also confirmed three festival dates for the summer. During the time between, they will continue working on the follow-up to 2013’s Reflektor.

Frightened Rabbit announce new album Painting of a Panic Attack, tour dates

Frightened Rabbit have announced a new album, Painting of a Panic Attack, which is due out April 8th on Canvasback/Atlantic. It was produced by Aaron Dessner from the National at his studio in Brooklyn. They’re also going on tour with Caveman, their first U.S. dates in almost three years. Poliça shares new song “Lately,” expands tour

United Crushers, the third studio album from Poliça, is due out next month through Mom + Pop. The Shulamith follow-up was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, and is teased today with “Lately.”

“Don’t let love become a distraction,” frontwoman Channy Leaneagh said of the track in a statement. “I want to be moved by my lover but not put in a lethargic state of apathy for doing anything else but be with another person. Love is a place where we make each other better and inspire each other to make cool shit.”

United Crushers is due out on March 4th.

The band has expanded their 2016 tour to include fall dates all across Europe in support of the album.

Watch Ween’s first reunion show

After three years of being broken up, Ween announced that they were going to return for a pair of shows. The first of the pair occurred last night at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Videos from that set have appeared online—find footage in the playlist below (thanks to Stereogum).

The Internet cover N.E.R.D.’s “Tape You”

The Internet currently are in Australia for St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival. While there, the band went to the famous Australian radio station triple j to play a couple of tracks in studio, which includes a cover of N.E.R.D.‘s “Tape You.” The song is from N.E.R.D.’s album In Search of…. The Internet worked with Chad Hugo fromN.E.R.D. in 2013. He produced “Dontcha” from their album Feel Good.

James Blake shares “Modern Soul”

During his BBC Radio 1 residency, James Blake played a brand new song of his. The song is called ‘Modern Soul” and can be listened to below.

Blake stated that his new album would be named Radio Silence. He later confirmed that Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Kanye West both would appear on the new album. There is no word still on the album’s details or release date.

Paul McCartney records music for Skype’s romance-themed animated emojis

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and Skype has launched “Love Mojis,” a series of romantic animated emojis, which can be used when on the service to celebrate. The Love Mojis are set to music created by Paul McCartney, who used guitar, drums, synthesizers, xylophones, and his voice to make the compositions. You can watch a short video showing his time in the studio below.

McCartney talked about the process on his website:

It turned out to be a great laugh at the same time as challenging because you suddenly realise you’ve got to compress a musical interpretation of an expression into less than five seconds. It was like doing a huge crossword puzzle and coming up with all these solutions. And at the same time it was musical so it was great practise for me in the studio.
