Stream Jessie Ware’s New Album Now

Tough Love, Jessie Ware’s new album, will be officially released next week on October 21st. In the LP is streaming in full via NPR.org, in anticipation. The sophomore album will highlight her new confidence, according to a press release.

Tough Love is the follow-up to Devotion, released in 2012. The album was produced by the duo, BenZel (Benny Blanco and Two Inch Punch). The album features artists such as Miguel, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, and Ed Sheeran.

Ware has also recently spoken to The 405 on the LP’s collaborators, but talking about her bolder role in its creation:

“There aren’t really too many new faces, this time round. It might look like that, but it’s just the same lot from the last album, really, and a few extra friends. The main new collaborator, I guess, is BenZel; they kind of exec’d half the album, but I’ve known both of them, individually, for years. If there is one voice to the record, it has to come from me; I think I’ve managed it, too, because I really had grown in confidence. I was able to put my foot down a little bit more, and just say “that’s what I want.” I know if it sits right with me.”

Tough Love Tracklist:

05. Sweetest Song
06. Kind of…Sometimes…Maybe

The Smashing Pumpkins Could Be Making a Doom Metal Album

The alternative band, Smashing Pumpkins are set to release two albums, Monuments To An Elegy and Day For Night, in 2015, but they are apparently working on a third. While the other two albums set to release in 2015 focus on guitar-influenced sounds, the third record could be going even heavier by delving into doom metal.

Guitarist Jeff Schroeder recently posted an Instagram image of a Sunn Concert Lead amp on Thursday with the caption, “Billy [Corgan] and I are making a doom metal album.”

However, everything could just this be a joke about how Corgan and Schroeder are simply using Sunn amps.

Watch Ryan Adams Cover Alice in Chains in Seattle

Although Ryan Adams has a vast, career-spanning catalog at his feet, including his new self-titled album, Ryan Adams has been pleasing his crowds with covers. Over the last few weeks, Adams has covered Danzig with Johnny Depp, Hüsker Dü with Bob Mould, Foreigner, and even Bryan Adams. Keeping this trend, Adams covered Alice in Chains’ “Nutshell” this past week during a show in Seattle.

Maybe Adams was influenced by Arcade Fire during their recent tour.

Local Natives Cover Little Dragon’s “After the Rain”

For the indie-rock band, Local Natives, this year has been fairly quiet. The band has mostly been touring for the the last year or so in support of their last album, Hummingbird. The LA band played a show at the Santa Monica pier, where they covered Little Dragon’s “After The Rain”.

With the help of former tour mate Moses Sumney (who now is in Karen O’s band) Local Natives seem to do Little Dragon justice even if soul is not their forte.
