The Avalanches have released a remix EP for their song “Because I’m Me.” The band have collaborated with a bunch of different artists to remix the Wildflower track, including Moor Mother, Dâm-Funk, Black Milk, Bondax, and more. Listen to them below. The band also announced last August via Instagram that they have begun work on the follow-up to 2016’s Wildflower.
Belly are back with an announcement of their first record in 23 years, DOVE, which is set to be out May 4th. The band has also released the album’s first single “Shiny One.” Listen to it and find the DOVE tracklist below. “I have a lot of affection for ‘Shiny One,’” Tanya Donelly said in a statement. “It was the first completely collaborative song we’ve ever done—[bassist Gail Greenwood] wrote the riff and the chorus, [guitarist Tom Gorman] and I wrote the verse and bridge, [drummer Chris Gorman]’s parts shaped the direction and vibe. When I hear it, I hear all four of us equally.”

Janelle Monáe has shared a new song from her upcoming album Dirty Computer called “Make Me Feel.” Watch the music video, directed by Alan Ferguson and stars Tessa Thompson below. Dirty Computer is set to be out April 27th. It will also feature the song “Django Jane.” Talking to Zane Lowe, who premiered the song on Beats 1, Monáe talked about Dirty Computer, “I actually had this title on this concept before my first album The ArchAndroid, and it scared me because a lot of the things that I knew that I needed to say were very deep, very personal, from the heart. You know, this is an extremely vulnerable album and it took me a while to make it because I’m a self editor.”
Sade has recorded new music for the upcoming film adaptation of the novel, A Wrinkle in Time. Director Ava DuVernay announced it today via Twitter, writing, “I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget. Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for WRINKLE IN TIME. It’s entitled ‘Flower of the Universe.’ And it’s a dream come true.” Find that tweet below.
Bon Iver played their For Emma, Forever Ago 10th anniversary show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last night where they performed an unreleased song called “Hayward, WI” that Justin Vernon wrote while he was working on For Emma. The group also played “Re: Stacks” and their Sarah Siskind cover, “Lovin’s For Fools.” Watch videos from the show below.
Actor and comedian Charlyne Yi has accused Marilyn Manson of racist comments and harassment. Yi went on Twitter detailing an incident on set of the medical drama “House.” “On the last season of ‘House’ [Manson] came on set to visit because he was a huge fan of the show & he harassed just about every woman asking us if we were going to scissor, rhino & called me a China man,” she wrote, continuing with, “I genuinely hope he gets help.” The tweets have been deleted. Yi also called out comedian David Cross for racist comments he made towards her at a 2007 party.
Tanlines have shared a new EP for childrens called Presents where they play classic kids songs like “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” and more. Listen to it below. “Eric and I have been stay-at-home dads for the last two years,” said Jesse Cohen of the band in a statement. “The EP started as a way for us to make something for our kids, but we quickly realized that other kids (and their parents) might enjoy it too.” He continued, ‘We worked one day every week while a babysitter watched the kids, and soon enough… Presents was born.”
Jay Rock has released the music video for “King’s Dead,” his song for Black Panther with Kendrick Lamar, Future, and James Blake. It shows Kendrick, Jay, and Future partying in a corporate office with the other scenes seem to have been filmed in Los Angeles’ Bradbury Building.
