Wilco reveal lineup for Solid Sound Festival

Wilco have announced the lineup for their Solid Sound Festival. Performers include Television, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Kevin Morby, Big Thief, Robert Glasper Experiment, Daniel Bachman, Joan Shelley, Jeff Parker Trio, the Nels Cline Four, and Tweedy. Wilco will headline the first two nights of the festival. John Hodgman also curated the comedy for the fest. Check out the full lineup here. Solid Sound will take place from Friday June 23rd to June 25th at MASS MoCa in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Watch Tituss Burgess play Beyoncé in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” season 3 trailer

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” on Netflix is returning for a third season. To celebrate the announcement of its air date—May 19th—the show released a trailer where Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess) patrols the streets with a baseball bat, like Beyoncé’s Lemonade. It is soundtracked by a parody of “Hold Up,” sung by Titus himself. Watch it out below.

Animal Collective debut new song “Kinda Bonkers” from forthcoming The Paints EP

Animal Collective on Thursday began San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival by performing a DJ set at the California Academy of Sciences. The group debuted a new song entitled “Kinda Bonkers” during their set, according to a Redditor who was there and Shazam’d it. As Shazam indicates, “Kinda Bonkers” will be on the upcoming The Painters EP, which will possibly serve as a sequel or companion to last year’s Painting With.Check out the song and video below, via Reddit.

Prince to return to streaming services on Sunday

Prince’s music is officially returning to streaming services this Sunday, NPR reports. A press release sent by Napster and received by NPR confirms rumors that Prince’s Warner Bros. catalog, which has classic albums like Purple Rain, 1999, Sign O’ the Times, and Dirty Mind, will be put onto streaming services the same day as the Grammys.

They are yet to announce what time on Sunday the music will be released.

Prince’s discography has not been available on any streaming platform, except for Tidal, since 2015.

Today, Universal Music Group announced that it signed a deal with Prince’s estate to manage Prince’s non-Warner Bros. NPG Records catalog along with unreleased material, Billboard reports. This will begin going towards the future release of music from Prince’s legendary vault of recordings from his career.

Bon Iver/The National’s Eaux Claires Fest announce lineup

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and the National’s Aaron Dessner have announced the lineup for their third Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, which is to take place June 16-17th in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as Stereogum reports. Chance the Rapper, Wilco, along with Jeff Tweedy’s side project Tweedy, Feist, Paul Simon with yMusic, Danny Brown, Perfume Genius, and more are set to play. Additional performances listed include “Bon Iver Presents John Prine and the American Songbook,” and “Big Red Machine,” a collaborative performance from Vernon and Desnner with guests, based on their song of the same name from the compilation Dark Was the Night.

Even though the lineup has not yet been officially announced, booklets featuring the lineup were mailed to people who had ordered tickets already. Check out an image/tweet below.

Dirty Projectors team with Solange and D∆WN for new song “Cool Your Heart”

Dirty Projectors’ self-titled debut is set to be out February 24th. After “Up In Hudson” last month, the band shared another preview to their seventh LP today with a single called “Cool Your Heart.”

The track was co-written by frontman David Longstreth and Solange Knowles, and features guest vocals from experimental R&B singer Dawn Richard, also known as D∆WN. According to a press release, the single includes additional help from Tyondai Braxton from Battles and a Bahia beat courtesy of Mauro Refosco, a longtime percussionist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Atoms for Peace.

Empire of the Sun and the Avalanches announce tour

Empire of the Sun have announced a U.S. tour for 2017, including a couple of shows with the Avalanches in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. Besides their previously announced Coachella dates, these shows are set to be the Avalanches’ first U.S. shows in 15 years, after their return with Wildflower last year. Empire of the Sun are touring in support of Two Vines

DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith checks into “long-haul inpatient treatment”

Zachary Cole Smith from DIIV has announced that he has checked himself into “long-haul inpatient treatment” in a post to his Instagram. “So i guess now is the time for me to stop kidding myself, and everybody else,” it says. “I’ve taken this road way past the point of sanity and fucked with way too many people. See you all on the other side, I love you forever, you know who yous are.” Find the full note below.

Smith has struggled with drug use publicly in the past. He was arrested in September 2013 for a misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
