Animal Collective on Thursday began San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival by performing a DJ set at the California Academy of Sciences. The group debuted a new song entitled “Kinda Bonkers” during their set, according to a Redditor who was there and Shazam’d it. As Shazam indicates, “Kinda Bonkers” will be on the upcoming The Painters EP, which will possibly serve as a sequel or companion to last year’s Painting With.Check out the song and video below, via Reddit.

Damon Albarn refuses to end performance and gets carried off stage by security

This weekend at Rockslide Music Festival in Denmark, Damon Albarn went far past breaking curfew. Africa Express, his collective, which includes Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Seye Adeklan, and Songhoy Blues as members, performed a set that lasted five hours until 4 a.m. If he had it his way, we would have probably kept going.

Albarn was apparently in a high spirit, and also probably had drunk a little too much, leading to the collective to cover the likes of The Clash, Randy Newmanx and the Gorillaz. He also brought out guests including his Blur bandmate Graham Coxon and Laura Mvula.
Once it got to 4 a.m., however, organizers of the festival asked Albarn to end the show. He refused and encouraged the audience to cheer to support. Eventually, he was carried off stage.
