Gold Panda and Simian Mobile Disco’s Jas Shaw release new album

Gold Panda and Simian Mobile Disco’s Jas Shaw have formed a new duo called selling. On October 10th, they shared their debut album On Reflection. Listen to the record, and watch their Tilly Shiner directed music video for “Keeping Txme” below. Physical copies of On Reflection is set to come out on December 14th via City Slang.

Gold Panda and Shaw recorded On Reflection in Shaw’s studio in Kent, England. Gold Panda said in a press release about the album, “It’s the most immediate and natural record I’ve ever made.” He also said:

We didn’t make this for a label or something. Initially, it was just us mucking around. There was no plan to make an album. Originally I thought we were going to make a track here and there and stick them out on vinyl. But then, we had an album that sounded quite good and it was like “well if we have an album’s worth of stuff, maybe we should just release it.” It became a thing, I suppose.

But we’ll quit if it becomes a smash hit record.

Soccer Mommy covers Dixie Chicks’ “Wide Open Spaces”

Soccer Mommy has released a cover of the Dixie Chicks’ song “Wide Open Spaces.” Soccer Mommy’s Sophie Allison said in a statement, “I think ‘Wide Open Spaces’ is one of those perfect ’90s alt country songs. Listen to Kevin Shields and Brian Eno’s new song “The Weight of History”

Brian Eno and My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields collaborated on a track called “Only Once Away My Son.” They also released a double A-side vinyl 12″ that had “Only Once Away My Son,” as well as a newer single called “The Weight of History.” “The Weight of History” is now available to stream. Mr Twin Sister announce new album Salt, release new song

Mr Twin Sister have announced a new album titled Salt, and it is set to be out on October 25th via Twin Group. It is their first release since their 2014 self-titled and in anticipation of the release, they shared the lead single, “Tops and Bottoms.” Listen to it below

Blood Orange and ASAP Rocky share new “Chewing Gum” video

Blood Orange has shared the newest music video from his latest album, Negro Swan. The video is for “Chewing Gum,” his collaboration with ASAP Rocky and Project Pat and it was directed by Dev Hynes himself. It stars Hynes and Rocky on ATVS exploring the desert while wearing silken durags. Watch it below.

Courtney Barnett shares new song “Small Talk”

Courtney Barnett has released a new track called “Small Talk,” which was recorded during the studio sessions for her latest album Tell Me How You Really Feel. Listen to it below.

“Small Talk” is from Mom + Pop’s new compilation to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The box set, titled 10 Years of Mom+Pop, includes covers, rarities, and iconic songs from the label. The compilation is out November 23rd.

Bon Iver to play rally for Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin

Bon Iver will play at a rally as well as a concert in support of Democratic Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin, who is seeking re-election, as well as early voting. Both events will go down on October 20th at the Sylvee in Madison. Bon Iver said in a statement: “Voting matters, and voting for Tammy Baldwin keeps it that way. We are thrilled to support Sen. Baldwin in encouraging early voting in Wisconsin with a rally and concert at Madison’s brand new venue The Sylvee on Oct. 20.” Bon Iver will be joined by Chris Rosenau from Collections of Colonies of Bees.
