My Bloody Valentine kicked off their tour this summer by playing their first show since 2013 at Birmingham’s O2 Institute. Fans received a pair of earplugs when they got to the show as the usual tradition at the band’s shows. According to fanreports, Kevin Shield had experienced technical difficulties and false starts throughout the night. Watch some of the footage from the show below.
DJ Shadow has announced a film and live album titled Live in Manchester: The Mountain Has Fallen Tour. The album/film was recorded at England’s Albert Hall in October of last year where Shadow had stopped on tour behind his latest album The Mountain Will Fall and his 2017 EP The Mountain Has Fallen. Live in Manchester is set to be out July 13th through Mass Appeal Records.
The film will be premiered at the Los Angeles’ Downtown Independent tomorrow, June 22nd and Shadow will be in attendance for a Q&A. Watch the trailer and find the album tracklist below and the artwork above.

Yo La Tengo have released a cover of Neil Young’s “Time Fades Away” for a Spotify Single as well as an in-studio version for “Shades of Blue” from this year’s LP, There’s a Riot Going On. Listen to the songs below.
Matt “Guitar” Murphy, best known as the guitarist for the Blues Brothers, has died according to Rolling Stone. He was 88 years old. Murphy was also a sideman for the most well-known blues musicians like Howlin’ Wolf, Memphis Slim, Muddy Waters, James Cotton, and others.
He was born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis where him and his brother Floyd became icons in the city’s blues scene where they played sidemen, until Murphy was recruited for the Blues Brothers by Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi. He starred in the 1980 comedy and the sequel Blues Brothers 2000 (1998), where he was Aretha Franklin’s husband. He recorded solo albums as well.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have released their debut album, Hope Downs, stream it below via Spotify.
The LP is their first after two EPs, 2016’s Talk Tight and 2017’s The French Press. It is their first full length full-length with label Sub Pop. The album was produced by Liam Judson. The way they approached the album in an isolated influenced the majority of the album.
The vocalist and guitarist, Joe White, talked more about the house in the country where they recorded in an interview with Enmore Audio:
“It was just a very pleasant environment to be in. There was none of the dark, cramped spaces of a studio. I slept outside every night and we cooked and ate outside the whole time. It was about being in a good, comfortable headspace when we went in and attacked the recording.”

Josiah Wise’s, aka serpentwithfeet’s, debut album soil was released last week and has announced tour dates today in support. Although the majority of the dates are in Europe, the project is also set to perform at festivals like Fuji Rock in Tokyo, Treasure Island Music Festival in Oakland, and standard show in his hometown, Baltimore. Bon Iver and Moses Sumney performed a cover together of Sade’s 2000 hit “By Your Side” during Bon Iver’s second set at Bonnaroo 2018. Watch it below. Japanese Breakfast has made the soundtrack for a video game called “Sable.” Michelle Zauner wrote, announcing her contribution, “So honored to be working on this incredible game!!!” “Sable,” which was announced during E3, is a coming-of-age story that takes place on an alien planet and it is set to be out in 2019. LVL UP have announced that they will no longer be a group. The band shared a statement on Twitter with the announcement where they wrote, “We have decided to retire this project. It has been an extremely rewarding journey beyond anything we could have realistically imagined… Our deepest gratitude goes out to every label, band, and person who’s played a role in this wild ride.” Find the statement as well as their final single, “Orchard,” below.
