FYF Fest reveals 2016 lineup featuring Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala

FYF Fest has released its 2016 lineup. The two-day music festival will take place August 27th – 28th at Exposition Park in Los Angeles.

Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, and Grace Jones are leading the lineup. Other acts include Grimes, ANOHNI, Father John Misty, Hot Chip, Explosions in the Sky, Air, Beach House, Wolf Parade, Vince Staples, Shellac, Blood Orange, and Moby.

Peter Bjorn and John, Ty Segall & The Muggers, DIIV, Oneohtrix Point Never, Kelela, Chelsea Wolfe, Wild Nothing, Floating Points, Todd Terje & The Olsens, Jagwar Ma, The Black Lips, Junio Boys, Hop Along, Julia Holter, Denzel Curry, Museum of Love, Alex G, Head Wound City, Sheer Mag, and more are also playing.

Single-day, two-day, and VIP passes will go on sale Friday, April 1st.

Stream Grimes’ new album Art Angels

Grimes released her new album, Art Angels, via 4AD today. Spotify users can stream the album. It is also available through Apple Music.

The 15-track LP is Claire Boucher’s fourth following the 2012 Visions. The result of months of writing and time in the studio came only acter Boucher had scrapped an entire collection of songs.

One song on the album, called “Kill V Maim,” was written in the perspective of Al Pacino in The Godfather Pt 2. “Except he’s a vampire who can switch gender and travel through space,” she said to Q.

According to an interview with Dazed and Confused, there is a song “from the perspective of a butterfly in the Amazon as people are cutting down trees; there’s a song that’s from the perspective of angels who are polluted, so they’re crying polluted tears.”

Fun Fun Fun Fest announces 2015 lineup

Austin-based festival, Fun Fun Fun fest has revealed its lineup for 2015. The festival, on its 10th anniversary, will take place November 6th to 8th at Auditorium Shores.

Included on the lineup are acts such as D’Angelo, Wu-Tang Clan, CHVRCHES, Jane’s Addiction, who are performing Ritual de lo habitual, Ride, L7, Future Islands, Grimes, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, Coheed and Cambria, Desaparecidos, Drive Like Jehu, American Nightmare, Gogol Bordello, performing Gypsy Punk, Converge, Neon Indian, Cass McCombs, Antemasque, Hudson Mohawke, Peaches, and Fucked Up.

On the lineup as well is British heavy metal band, Venom, who are performing their first-ever Texas performance at the festival. D.C. hardcore band dag nasty are also reuniting during the weekend to play.

Other acts are ScHoolboy Q, NOFX, Odesza, Toro y Moi, FUZZ, Mikal Cronin, OFF!, American Football, Parquet Courts, Benjamin Booker, Viet Cong, Alvvays, Joey Bada$$, Doomtree, Shamir, BadBadNotGood, Dwarves, performing Blood, Guts & Pussy, Andrew Jackson Jihad, together PANGEA, Babes in Toyland, The Growlers, King Khan and BBQ Show, and Big Freedia.
