Real Estate announced earlier this year and that they partnered with Los Angeles vegan footwear company Keep to design a new shoe. Every pair comes with a cassette that features an unreleased song and demos for “Two Arrows” and “Two Part.” Listen to the cassette’s first track, “In Time” here. The net proceeds from the the Keep x Real Estate Ramos shoe will go towards the American Civil Liberties Union.
Real Estate have been on tour with new member Julian Lynch and working on a new album. During their set at the Atlanta festival Project Pabst on Friday, they played unreleased material. A representative for the band says the working title of the track in the video below is “Harpsichord.”
Real Estate announced that guitarist Matt Mondanile was leaving the band in May in order to focus on his own Ducktails project. After his departure, the band played a few shows with new member and guitarist Julian Lynch as “a prelude to the recording of their next album.” They have announced a fall U.S. tour today.Check out Real Estate’s upcoming itinerary below.

Matt Mondanile is no longer a member of Real Estate. The band in a statement said he is “focusing on his own Ducktails project.” Real Estate will continue their tour currently with new member and guitarist Julian Lynch. They also say that they will start to record the follow-up to their 2014 album Atlas after the tour. It is scheduled currently for release in early 2017. Having previously announced a short run of shows in California and a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater with The National, Real Estate expand on this by adding two further California dates. This limited run of dates is a prelude to the recording of their next album, tentatively slated for early 2017.These upcoming shows will be the first with new member and fellow scion of Ridgewood, NJ, guitarist Julian Lynch. Lynch takes the place vacated by the departing Matt Mondanile, who is focusing on his own Ducktails project, a musical endeavor that predates his involvement in Real Estate.The band will commence recording their follow-up to Atlas this summer.

Thomas Fekete, the guitarist for Surfer Blood, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer this year. The band is now raising funds to cover the cost 0f treatment for Fekete by selling unreleased songs by various artists.
Surfer Blood, Real Estate, Yo La Tengo, Guided By Voices, Julianna Barwick, Cults, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, … And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Lou Barlow, Nick Diamonds, the Drums, the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, and Alex Somers (of Jónsi and Alex) all shared tracks. The tracks go from a GBV live cut from 1994 to a Cults outtake to a Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger song from 2009 when Mark Ronson was a member of the band. Nick Diamonds and Surfer Blood also contributed new songs.
There are also items up for auction that have autographs from Yoko Ono and the Flaming Lips, Interpol and Shepard Fairey, Sleigh Bells, Sharon Van Etten, and Angel Olsen. Everything can be found here.
In May, Surfer Blood’s van was broken into as well. In addition to taking gear and personal items, the thieves also took donations that were collected for Fekete.

Real Estate’s Martin Courtney has just released his solo album named Many Moons. He is appearing on Sirius XMU at 9 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, November 4 to promote it. Watch him perform his cover of Pavement’s “Major Leagues,” recorded for the session.
